When you need it

Signs your store needs e-commerce SEO

In an online store the money sits in category and product results. These are the signs those pages are not doing their job.

  • Category pages do not rank

Your collections sit below marketplaces and competitors for the searches that describe what you sell.

  • Filters create thousands of URLs

Every colour, size and sort order makes a new address, and Google spends its time on near-duplicates.

  • Product pages use supplier copy

The same description appears on many other stores, so yours has no reason to rank above them.

  • Products are missing from search

Pages are live but not indexed, or drop out of results when an item goes out of stock.

  • Traffic comes but does not buy

Visitors land on pages that do not match what they searched, and leave without adding to the cart.

  • Your results show no price or reviews

Listings appear without price, stock or rating details because product structured data is missing.

What you get

What my e-commerce SEO services include

Every project starts with the catalog: which categories, products and filter pages deserve to be found, and which should stay out of the index.

  • 01

    Category and collection structure

A structure for categories and collections, including which filter combinations deserve an indexable page of their own.

  • 02

    Faceted navigation rules

Rules for filters and sorting, so they stop generating thousands of thin, near-duplicate URLs.

  • 03

    Product page work

Unique copy where it pays, variant handling, and rules for out-of-stock and discontinued products.

  • 04

    Product schema

Product and review structured data, so your results can show price, availability and ratings.

  • 05

    Keyword mapping across the catalog

Each category and product matched to how buyers search, and not to internal or supplier naming.

  • 06

    Organic Shopping visibility

For Shopify stores, the product data that feeds free Shopping listings, checked and cleaned.

What e-commerce SEO moved for clients

Every figure is from Google Search Console or GA4. Each project combined on-page, technical and link work, so I do not credit one fix with the whole lift.

+45%

Purchases, D2C e-commerce brand

+73%

Cart adds, D2C e-commerce brand

+134%

Form submissions, D2C e-commerce brand

+321%

Form submissions, B2B manufacturing supplier

D2C e-commerce brand

An online retail brand had steady traffic, but too much of it left without buying. I mapped keywords across the catalog and updated content and meta tags, so each page matched buyer intent instead of internal naming.

Audits in Screaming Frog and Search Console cleared the indexing and crawl issues keeping product pages out of results, and link building lifted category-level authority. In GA4, cart adds rose 73% and purchases 45%.

Product pages for a B2B supplier

A B2B manufacturing supplier is not an online store, but the problem was the same: product pages were named the way the company talks, and buyers search differently.

After the product and service pages were updated to match how commercial buyers search, form submissions rose 321% and contact inquiries 73%.

How it works

How an e-commerce SEO project runs

  1. 1

    Audit the catalog

A crawl of the store, the Search Console indexing report, and a count of how many URLs your filters create.

    Decide what gets indexed

Categories, products and filter pages sorted into index, canonicalise or block, with the reason for each.

  3. 3

    Rework the pages that sell

Category and product pages updated in Shopify or WordPress: titles, copy, schema and internal links.

  4. 4

    Measure in sales

Cart adds, purchases and revenue from organic search, reported by category.

FAQ

Questions about e-commerce SEO services

What are e-commerce SEO services?

E-commerce SEO services are the work that gets an online store found for the products it sells. That covers category and collection structure, rules for filters, product page content, product structured data, internal links and the technical health of the store. The aim is more sales from organic search, and not only more visitors.

Which platforms do you work with?

Shopify and WordPress. Those are the platforms I work in day to day, so I can make the changes myself. On other platforms I write clear, prioritised tickets for your developers.

Should filter and facet pages be indexed?

Most should not. Filters for colour, size and sort order create thousands of near-duplicate URLs that waste crawling. A few combinations that people really search for, such as a product type in a popular colour or material, deserve an indexable page of their own. Deciding which ones is part of the first audit.

What should happen to out-of-stock product pages?

It depends on whether the product is coming back. A page for a product that will return should stay live and say so. A product that is gone for good should redirect to the closest replacement or to its category, so the links and rankings it earned are not lost.

How long does e-commerce SEO take to show results?

Indexing and technical fixes can show within weeks. Category rankings usually take three to six months, and longer in markets where large marketplaces compete for the same searches.

Do you work with stores outside India?

Yes. I work with clients in India, the United States and Canada. I keep evening hours in India for calls with North America, and you can reach me on WhatsApp from any country.
